A Kamloop resident won more than $50K lottery prize

Hardy Spitman and Frances Perszon of Kamloop bags more than $50,000 from a recent Lotto 6/49 draw. 

The lucky couple matched five of the six numbers drawn on August 28 Lotto 6/49 draw and took home more than $50,000 prize. 

"We play to dream. You can only win if you buy a ticket," Perszon said in a release. 

The lucky winner purchased the ticket at the Petro-Canada store on Rogers Way in Aberdeen. The couple decided to check their ticket on the BCLC Lotto App, while they were at the lake. 

"Fran checked the numbers on her cellphone and then we realized we won," Spitzman said. "It was great to see more than a free play when checking on the app."

The couple feels relaxed after they won the prize as they plan to pay down their mortgage with the prize.
