A lucky employee wins a big jackpot worth of $1 million in front of his boss

A Burlington man is $1 million richer after a "strong gut feeling" caused him to stop for a scratch-off ticket.

Anthony Pinnix,who is just 46 years old at the time of the lottery draw purchased a Spectacular Riches scratch-off ticket at the Rite Stop Market on N Graham Hopedale Rd, spending $25 on it.

“It was a strong feeling in my gut,” Pinnix said, “that told me to get that ticket.” Please consider supporting local journalism and subscribing to The Times-News.

Pinnix had briefly stopped by the Rite Stop Market on the way to his boss' house and began scratching the ticket once he arrived.

Pinnix, who is currently a heating and air conditioning installer, said that he realized that he had a winning ticket while he was there.
