Co-workers residing in different cities share $500K lottery prize

Fanny Bay co-workers sharing a big Lotto prize after matching Extras from Lotto Max lottery. Comox Valley Co-worker Deborah Banks and Dale miller are sharing $500K after the two picked up a ticket for August 20 Lotto Max draw. 

Both the winners live in different cities - Banks, from Cumberland and Miller, from Comox. They work together in Fanny Bay and purchased the ticket at the Buckley Bay Beachcomber. 

The lucky ticket matched all four numbers drawn to win the top Extra prize on Lotto Max lottery. 

 Banks scanned the ticket from home on the BCLC Lotto app and woke up her friend to share the good news. 

"My first thoughts were, 'it's a joke, it's too early in the morning for this," Miller said.

Banks shared, sometimes they select numbers that are meaningful to them when they play together. But this time, they purchased the Quick pick ticket. 

Both the winners celebrated their win by treating their families to dinner. 

When asked, both the winners share similar plans for their unbelievable win; they plan to pay off their mortgages and save the rest for retirement.
