North Carolina man wins two jackpot from two identical lottery tickets

Can you imagine winning two jackpot on the same night? Surely possible, as a North Carolina man won two jackpot from two identical ticket he purchased accidentally. 

The lucky man was not sure if he had purchased a ticket in the state's Lucky For Life lottery drawing, so he filled out the online form.

Scotty Thomas, 49, from Fayetteville said to the North Carolina Education Lottery, "I was just lying on bed watching a basketball match on TV and I couldn't remember if I filled it out or not."

So went ahead and filled the form again. He says the next morning his son asked why there was two different amounts listed. "I realized, 'I think I filled it out twice."'

Both the tickets turned out to be winner, as he won $25,000 a year for life with each ticket in the November 27 drawing. This is the second biggest prize in Lucky For Life draw, according to the lottery. 

The lucky winner, who is a truck driver, chose to receive his winnings as a one time lump sum payment of $780,000 for both tickets instead of annual payment. 

Thomas plans to invest in his business, pay off bills, help his family and perhaps buy a house with his windfall.
