Time Running Out to Claim $100K Easy 5 Lottery Prize in Louisiana

Time is almost up to claim a $100K Louisiana Lottery Easy 5 prize from the Feb. 26 drawing

Someone in Louisiana is holding a lottery ticket worth $100,000 — but they’re running out of time to cash it in.

The winning ticket is from the Feb. 26 Easy 5 drawing and was purchased at Adams Grocery, 41245 Highway 23 in Buras. The winning numbers were 13, 27, 28, 30, and 31. The odds of matching all five numbers in Easy 5 are about 1 in 435,897.

Winners in Louisiana have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize, which sets the deadline at Aug. 25 — less than two weeks away. Because the prize is over $600, the ticket holder must visit one of the Louisiana Lottery’s five regional offices or its headquarters to collect the winnings.

Louisiana Lottery President Rose Hudson urged the winner to come forward soon, adding that the ticket should be treated like cash and signed on the back for security.

If the prize is not claimed by the deadline, the money will go into the Louisiana Lottery’s unclaimed prize fund, which is used to increase scratch-off payouts and fund special promotions.
