A South Bay Mega Millions player won nearly $300,000 prize

The first week of December proved lucky for a South Bay player who is now $293K richer after Friday night's Mega Millions draw.

According to the California Lottery, a Mega Millions winning ticket sold in Gilroy that matched first five numbers to win nearly $300,000.

The lucky ticket holder purchased the winning ticket at the City Gilroy Gas Station at 700 First St., for Friday night's draw. 

The winning ticket was one of the two match five ticket that was sold for Friday night's $112 million Mega Millions draw, each worth $293,600. 

The other California match five winning ticket was sold in Roseville, a Suburb in Sacramento. 

The winning numbers for Friday night's Mega Millions draw were 22, 45, 48, 58, 61. The Megaball number was 13.

There was no winner for the life changing $112 million jackpot. Now the jackpot prize for the next Mega Millions draw on Tuesday night will be an estimated $122 million.
