A Sparta man feel as happiest after winning $100K Powerball lottery prize

Decision of buying a soda after dinner has changed the life of a Sparta man, when he got a lucky Powerball winning ticket.

Johnny Miller was running for a quick ride after eating dinner at a Waffle house restaurant. He stopped at the Circle K on Sunset Road in Charlotte. 

He walked into the store to collect some soda. "I walked over there and and got a couple of sodas for the next day and I said, 'Sell me one of those Powerball winning tickets', and the cashier said, 'I will try my best!!!' Miller narrated. 

Miller purchased the ticket with extra $1 for the powerplay option. The lucky ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Red Powerball number to win $50,000 prize. The Powerplay option doubled the prize to $100,000 when the 2X powerplay was drawn. 

Miller claimed his from the lottery headquarters, after required federal and state tax withholdings he took home $70,751.

The odds of winning four white balls and the Red Powerball number is one in 913,129.

Miller plans to put his winning money into savings for future. 

"I am the happiest man in the world." He said.
