Mega Millions jackpot rises upto $400M after no one wins top prize

The jackpot for Friday’s Mega Millions drawing will be worth at least $400 million after no one bought a lottery ticket matching all the winning numbers for Tuesday’s drawing.

The cash option will be valued at an estimated $231.7 million.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 27, 31, 50, 51 and 61. The Mega Ball drawn was 21.

A pair of second-prize tickets were bought in California for Tuesday’s drawing, each of which matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball. Each is worth $492,603, not the standard $1 million because California lottery prizes vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners. They differ from the fixed second prizes offered in other participating states.

No one has hit the jackpot since a $20 million ticket was sold in Tennessee for the April 15 drawing. There have been four jackpot winning tickets sold nationwide so far in 2022.
