A fortunate woman scratch off lottery player from Florida scoops a big jackpot

A St. Johns County woman won $1 million playing a Florida Lottery scratch-off game.

Rema Shaban, 47, of St. Augustine, won $1 million playing the $1 Million a Year for Life Spectacular scratch-off game. She opted to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum of $640,000.

Shaban purchased her winning ticket from RaceTrac, 10360 Beach Blvd.,, in Jacksonville. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The scratch-off game, which launched in February, features two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. 

The winning ticket has sparked a wave of excitement and speculation within the community, as neighbors and friends eagerly try to uncover the identity of the fortunate winner.
