A Forsyth resident is $1 million richer after purchasing $10 NC lottery ticket

Charles Trottier, of Clemmons, got lucky in Platinum 7s lottery and won $1 million top prize, according to a news release by NC Education Lottery.

The lucky winner purchased his $10 winning ticket from Carlton's Tanglewood on Clemmons Road in Clemmons.

Trottier has claimed his winning prize on Wednesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

The winner has the choice of taking the full amount $1 million as an annuity of $50,000 a year for 20 years or a one time lum sum amount of $600,000.

Trottier choose to receive the one time lump sum amount $600,000 before taxes.

The Platinum 7s lottery Launched in May with five top prizes of $1 million. Two top prize for the lottery is still to be won.
