A lucky woman from Loves Park wins $1 million recently in a lottery game

An Illinois woman says “everything happens for a reason” after she was given a $1 million-winning lottery ticket.

The Lucky Day Lotto ticket was purchased April 22 by a regular customer of the Fas Mart at 6010 E. Riverside Blvd. in Loves Park and given as a gift to the winner.

The ticket matched all five numbers — 3-4-6-25-27— in the Monday midday drawing to score the jackpot prize. The woman, who wants to remain anonymous, plans to use her winnings to buy a car, give some to her grandfather, find a new place to live and save the rest.

The Fas Mart in Loves Park will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket. Lucky Day Lotto is an Illinois-only game with twice daily drawings at 12:40 p.m. and 9:22 p.m.

So far in 2024, more than four million winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets have been sold.
