A fortunate Lexington guy wins $1 million in scratch off lottery game

A Lexington man is $1 million richer after trying his luck on a $10 scratch-off ticket. NC Lottery says Dwayne Hinkle bought an Ultimate Dash ticket from the Grab and Go on West Center Street in Lexington.

Hinkle collected his winnings on Friday. He had a choice between an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000.

He chose the lump sum and after taxes, took home $429,003. The Ultimate Dash game came out in April and there are three more $1 million prizes left to be won.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.
