Another scratch off lottery player from Davidson County wins a big jackpot

Schmard Jeter of Lexington tried his luck on a $5 scratch-off and won a $200,000 top prize.

Jeter bought his lucky Pot of Gold ticket from the Grab And Go on West Center Street in Lexington. He arrived at lottery headquarters Thursday to claim his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $131,430.

The Pot of Gold game debuted in December with four $200,000 top prizes. One $200,000 prize remains to be claimed.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.

The winner has only 180 days from the day of the lottery draw to claim the winning prize money.
