An Alamance county guy wins $100,000 recently in scratch off lottery game

A fortunate scratch off lottery player from Alamance county scoops a big jackpot recently

Oscar Galdamez-Escalante of Burlington took a chance on a $25 scratch-off and won a $100,000 prize. Galdamez-Escalante bought his lucky Extreme Cash ticket from Sam’s Grill on N.C. 119 North in Mebane.

He claimed his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,507.

For details on how $9.9 million raised by the lottery made a difference for education programs in Alamance County last year.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.

They also announced that the winner has only 180 days from the day of the lottery draw to claim the winning prize money.
