New Hampton Pastor wins Iowa Lottery's scratch-off ticket worth $500k

Flustered moment: $500,000 lottery winning pastor realizes he left his ticket in the store

A lucky New Hampton Pastor won a whopping sum of $500,000 playing Iowa Lottery's $500,000 Ca$h game. 

The winning ticket was purchased from a local Casey's convenience store located in New Hampton. The store will receive a bonus of $500 for selling the winning ticket.

He told lottery officials that after winning he was so excited that he left the winning ticket inside the store and went out to the car and started calling everybody.

With the winning amount he plans to help his family and also donate some amount in charity. 

The Iowa Lottery Authority is run by the state of Iowa. It is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), which administers games on behalf of the member lotteries. 

The $500,000 Ca$h game is a $50 scratch game that features prizes ranging from $50 up to $500,000. The game has overall odds of winning of 1 in 3.09.
