Powerball drawing: Here are 6 Ga. locations that sold tickets that won $50,000

The hunt for the $1.76 billion Powerball jackpot winner ended in California, marking the second-largest prize in the history of the Powerball lottery. While Georgia didn't lay claim to the jackpot prize, there were a few fortunate residents who woke up to a pleasant $50,000 payout from Wednesday night's drawing.

The Georgia Lottery confirmed that six tickets in the state matched four numbers and the Powerball, securing a $50,000 prize. The winning numbers that made this possible were 22-24-40-52-64, with the red Powerball number being 10.

The following locations in Georgia were responsible for selling these winning tickets:

BP Food Mart, 4368 N. Peachtree Road, Dunwoody

Webbs Truck Stop, 2520 Hwy 82, Sylvester

Valero Food Mart, 309 Hwy 29, Hogansville

Ian's Market, 102 E. Fort Street, Chatsworth

Unity Store, 1808 Hwy 278, Social Circle

Flash Foods, 111 Sunset Blvd, Jesup

For those fortunate enough to win the jackpot or any other significant lottery prize, claiming the winnings in Georgia involves specific steps. Prizes less than $600 can be claimed at any Georgia Lottery retailer. However, prizes exceeding $600 must be claimed at the lottery headquarters or district offices, or they can opt for payment by mail.

To claim prizes greater than $600, winners are required to complete a winner claim form and present a valid government-issued photo ID along with a social security card.

For those who wish to stay updated, the Powerball drawing can be watched live on Channel 2 Action News every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday before WSB Tonight at 11:00. The thrill of the lottery continues, with winners celebrating across the state of Georgia.
