One Michigan player matches five in Powerball drawing, wins $1M

A lucky lottery player from Michigan won $1 million Powerball jackpot after matching five white balls drawn early Tuesday.

The winning Scratch-Off ticket was sold at the Country Corner Supermarket, 10039 Buchanan Road in Stanwood. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The lottery winner recently claimed his winning amount from the lottery headquarters and after tax withholdings, that player will take home about $717,000.

Powerball is an American lottery game offered by 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
