$4 million Mega Millions ticket sold in Murphysboro

A winning Mega Millions ticket worth $4 million was sold in southern Illinois, according to Illinois Lottery officials.

The winning Scratch-Off ticket was sold  in the small town of Murphysboro, about 7 miles outside of Carbondale. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $40,000 for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket. 

The winning numbers were: 5, 13, 29, 38, 59 and the winning ticket matched all five numbers plus a Megaplier.

The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing, officials say, is an estimated $189 million.

Mega Millions is an American multi-jurisdictional lottery game, it is offered in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
