A fortunate Naugatuck guy scoops a big jackpot recently in a lottery game

An area resident is $30,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket this week in Naugatuck, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

On Wednesday, an Oxford resident won $30,000 playing a "KENO" game. The winning ticket was purchased from Citgo Mart in Naugatuck, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

The CT Lottery furnishes winner information as public record. The Connecticut Lottery only publishes names of people who win $10,000 or more, which officials claim is quite common.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.

They also announced that the winner has only 180 days from the day of the lottery draw to claim the winning prize money.
