A lucky Cumberland liquor store's customer wins $50,000 recently

An Allegany County man concluded May by winning a $50,000 top prize in the Maryland Lottery’s Bonus Match 5 drawing.

The winner purchased a $6 quick-pick ticket for the drawing held on Wednesday.

His ticket’s sixth line of numbers matched the winning sequence, securing the substantial sum.

This Western Maryland local is among 16 to win the Bonus Match 5 top prizes in Maryland this year. He acquired his winning ticket from Parkview Liquors on 82 Greene Street in Cumberland.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.

They also announced that the winner has only 180 days from the day of the lottery draw to claim the winning prize money.
