A lucky scratch off lottery player from Lexington scoops a big jackpot recently

North Carolinians might just have the best of luck when it comes to scratch-off tickets.

No, seriously... you might have a better chance at winning from a scratch-off ticket than the Powerball. One lucky man in Lexington bought a $25 scratch-off ticket, winning a $100,000 prize.

Aurelio Agustin said he purchased the ticket from Jol Food Mart on Lake Road right off I-85 in Thomasville.

He took home $71,507 after taxes after all the state taxes, because he chose a one time lum sum payment.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.
