A Powerball lottery jackpot worth of $80 million is up for grab tonight

One lucky Aussie could become the nation's third biggest lottery winner in history if they scoop up the entire $80 million Powerball jackpot tonight as the luckiest postcodes are revealed.

One in four adult Aussies are expected to buy a ticket in Thursday night's draw in the hope of becoming an instant multimillionaire.

The jackpot has soared because there has been no Division One winners over the last five weeks.

Newsagencies have been run off their feet with 6,000 entries sold in-store and online in a single minute at 4.47pm on the day of the last $80,000 jackpot in February.

'If one person takes home that entire $80 million tonight, they'll instantly become the biggest winner of 2022 so far and also share the title of Australia's third biggest lottery winner ever,' The Lott spokesman Matt Hart told the Today show.
