A Whitehorse resident is now $1 million richer after winning Lotto Max lottery prize

The year 2021 is a very lucky and remarkable for many lottery players out there. 

A lucky Yukon man is now $1 million richer after purchasing lottery ticket from Whitehorse.

Michael Healey of Yukon found out he had a winning Lotto Max Canada lottery ticket a few days following the June 18 draw for $1 million prize. 

Healey bought the life changing winning ticket at Trails North Car & Truck Stop on the Alaska Highway. His winning numbers were 16, 17, 24, 28, 30, 31 and 38.

"I checked my ticket on the Lotto app a few days after the draw. " he said in a statement from the lottery officials. 

Healey revealed his plans for the winning prize to use it for pay off bills, help his family and buy for him a new boat. 

"I've wanted to buy a new boat for a while," he said. "Now it's no problem which feels great. The best part about the winning is the fact that it's going to make life easier."

According to the WCLC, Healey is the third person in the territory to take home $1 million prize since the start of 2021.
