A fortunate Ohio lottery player from Springfield scoops a big jackpot recently

The owner of a winning Ohio Lottery ticket that was sold at a Springfield Township convenience store has come forward, the lottery announced.

The unnamed individual won $500,000 on a Lottery scratch-off ticket, the Mega Multiplier, that they purchased at Prompt Stop, 9066 Dorr St., two months ago.

After state and federal taxes, which total 28 percent, the winner will take home about $360,000. As of June 20, the Ohio Lottery has two top prizes remaining in Mega Multiplier, it said.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.

They also announced that the winner has only 180 days from the day of the lottery draw to claim the winning prize money.
