A fortunate Northern Ontario resident celebrates his $100,000 win

Darcy Lesage of Garden River matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order in the Jan. 31 Lotto 6/49 draw to win $100,000.

"I typically check my tickets when I have a stack to check – but this time I didn't wait," Lesage, 64, said in a news release from the OLG.

"I checked my ticket on the OLG app and heard the winning tune. I wondered if it was real." He had his wife to take a second look at the app and they were both in shock.

"She was concerned it was a scam (so) we brought it to the store to make sure it was real – even the clerk was excited,” Lesage said.

“My friends and family have been so supportive and celebratory. This is awesome and I feel thankful."

He plans to use his win to pay off this truck and travel with family to enjoy some adventures together.
