A lucky bay County couple wins a big jackpot and plans to help family

A Bay County couple plans to help out family after they won a $500,000 lottery jackpot playing the Michigan Lottery’s Black Pearl instant game.

“Me and my wife love playing the Lottery and we are always playing different instant games,” said the 69-year-old winner who claimed the prize.

“We had purchased a few tickets and my wife scratched the Black Pearls game. When she was done, she handed me the ticket and asked me to confirm the winning amount.

As soon as I saw the $500,000 prize, I started shouting with excitement! We both couldn’t believe it.”

The lucky couple -- who chose to remain anonymous -- bought the winning ticket at the Marathon gas station, located at 3790 Euclid Avenue in Bay City.

After helping their family, the couple plans on saving the remainder of the money.
