A lucky Kerikeri couple wins $7 million recently in lotto lottery game

A Kerikeri couple has hit the jackpot after their ticket matched all six numbers in the New Zealand Lottery’s Powerball draw, taking home the massive $7 million first division prize.

The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning ticket from the BP Main Street in Kerikeri, and found out about their win on Wednesday morning. The win is the biggest ever for the district.

The lucky couple said they were in shock when they discovered the news, and plan to use the money to travel and help out their family.

The winning numbers in the draw were 34, 11, 16, 17, 18, and 19, with the Powerball number being 3. The BP Main Street outlet is now eligible for a $70,000 bonus for selling the ticket. It is the third time this year that the Powerball has been won.

The jackpot has now been reset and will start at $1 million for the next draw. The lottery has been running since 1987, and has made more than 500 millionaires throughout New Zealand.
