A New Haven County resident won million dollars in Powerball lottery

According to the Connecticut lottery, a lucky customer cashed in a CT lottery Powerball prize worth $2 million that was recently sold in a local store.

According to a release, on Thursday, August 19, a New Haven County resident claimed a Powerball winning ticket worth $2 million that was sold at the Bank Street Grand News on Bridge Street in Naugatuck.

The CT lottery didn't disclose the winner name as he chose to remain anonymous for the big prize but revealed the person lives in Naugatuck.

According to the CT Lottery, "when a winning scratch ticket is validated through a Lottery Retailer's Terminal, the remaining number of unclaimed prizes for that prize level is automatically updated reflecting one less prize. Until the individual or groups presents their winning ticket for claim at CT lottery headquarter, the Identity of the winner is unknown."
