A teenager from Stamford wins a big jackpot recently in powerball lottery

A lucky teenager from Stamford, Connecticut, is celebrating a huge Powerball jackpot win. 18-year-old James Smith hit all five main numbers plus the Powerball to win the draw on Saturday night, scooping a total prize of $200,000.

James, who'd been playing the lottery since he was 16, said the win was incredibly exciting, especially since he was the only one to match all the numbers in the draw. "I was at home with my family when I realized I had all the numbers," he said.

"My heart skipped a beat - I couldn't believe it! All I wanted to do was jump around and shout, but obviously I had to contain myself."

Although the teen is still deciding what to do with his winnings, he says he has some plans in mind for life after the win.

"I've been planning to study engineering at university, so this will make it possible without having to take out loans," he said.
