Alabama woman wins Powerball lottery ticket worth $2 million

A Alabama woman $2 million richer after she bought a winning Powerball ticket in Florida.

The winning ticket was sold at Fortune Liquors, located at 5878 Highway 231 in Campbellton. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $20,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket. 

“It’s still sinking in, but with a granddaughter getting ready to go to college, the timing couldn’t be better!” she told lottery officials.

The winning ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers but did not match the Powerball number.

She plans to buy a new house with the winning amount and save the rest for future uses.

The Florida Lottery is the government-operated lottery of the U.S. state of Florida. 

Powerball is an American lottery game offered by 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. 

Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
