Canadian Lottery Players Celebrate Big Lottery Wins

Two Canadian lottery players are looking forward to exciting new adventures after landing life-changing prizes.

$1 Million Win Turns a Simple Errand Into a Big Surprise

Mehrdad P. of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, stopped to check his lottery ticket while heading out to buy a light bulb. What started as an ordinary trip quickly turned into an unforgettable moment.

Mehrdad scanned his ticket for the October 9, 2026, Lotto Max draw at a gas station and discovered he had won $1 million in a Maxmillions prize!

He immediately drove home to share the news with his wife. At first, he told her he had won $100,000, but after checking the BCLC Lotto! app together, they realized the prize was actually worth $1 million.

His wife noticed he was acting strangely, prompting a playful exchange between the two.

Mehrdad purchased the winning ticket at Smart Stop, located inside an Esso station at Lougheed Highway and Willingdon Avenue in Burnaby, B.C.

Now, he plans to take his family on a dream vacation before deciding what to do with the rest of his winnings.

"I'm super excited. I can't describe it," he said.

Quesnel Man Wins a $46 Million Lotto 6/49 Jackpot

Meanwhile, Richard Z. of Quesnel, British Columbia, received an incredible surprise while relaxing at home.

After hearing that a major lottery prize-winning ticket had been sold in his hometown, he checked his ticket for the December 20, 2025, Lotto 6/49 draw. That's when he discovered he had won the $46 million Gold Ball Jackpot!

Richard and his wife are now looking forward to traveling and enjoying life without the usual stress.

One of his biggest dreams is to visit the pyramids, while the couple hopes to explore new places and make lasting memories together.

Richard plans to take things slowly as he considers his next steps.

For both winners, these unexpected lottery windfalls offer an exciting opportunity to spend more time with loved ones, travel the world, and enjoy new experiences.
