Continuing mom's lottery numbers after her death leads Michigan woman win big prize

A lucky Michigan woman decided to play her mom's lottery numbers after her death, leading her to win big prize. 

Cheryl Williams, 63, told the Michigan Lottery officials that she purchased her lucky ticket at a Sunoco Gas station in Detroit and used her late mom's numbers: 03, 07, 21, 31, 37 with Powerball 11 and 02, 09, 20, 53, 54 with Powerball 13.

Williams said in a news release on April 18 that her mother played these two sets of numbers for years, so she decided to continue playing them after she passed. 

"My son checked the ticket for me after the drawing that night and woke me up to tell me the good news when he saw I'd won," she said. "We were both speechless!"

According to officials, she had won $150,000 after matching four numbers and the Powerball number.
