Lucky bloke wins £86k from lottery draw

They say you have to be in it to win it, but one lucky bloke proved that saying wrong by winning an £86,000 lottery he didn’t even know he’d entered.

The 58-year-old, from Oakland County in Michigan, used the state lottery's app to scan a handful of non-winning $300,000,000 Diamond Riches tickets. But what he didn’t realise was that he was accidentally putting himself in line for a $100,000 (£86,318.50) jackpot.

The lucky lottery winner, who asked not to be named, told Michigan State Lottery representatives: “I bought a few of the $300,000,000 Diamond Riches tickets and scanned them on the Lottery app after I scratched them to double check them".
