Lucky North Carolina man wins N.C Lottery's scratch-off ticket worth $1M

A lucky man from North Carolina named Satyaprasad Kiran, won a whopping sum of $1 million playing $10 Million Spectacular game with $50 scratch-off ticket of N.C. Education Lottery.

The winning scratch-Off ticket was purchased from Snack Shop on N.C. 55 in Cary. The store will receive a bonus of $2000 for selling the winning ticket. 

The winner claimed his winning amount from the lottery headquarters on Wednesday and took home $600,000 after taxes. He chose to receive his prize as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum.

The $10 Million Spectacular ticket features a $10 million top prize. 100% of North Carolina Lottery net proceeds go directly to benefit the state's education, with the current figure sitting at more than $10 billion since its inception in 2006.
