Mom from Browns Summit won $501,544 in NC lottery

A woman from Browns Summit named Stephanie Israel won more than $500,000 from Saturday’s Cash 5 drawing in North Carolina Education Lottery. 

Lying on bed, she got a strong urge to buy a lottery ticket, after which she got online and bought a Quick Pick ticket on the lottery’s website. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $5000 for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

When she got a notification from the lottery officials about her win, she screamed for like 20 minutes in disbelief. 

She won a whopping sum of $501,544, and after federal and state taxes, officials say Israel took home $356,147.

Israel plans to invest her winnings into her family’s businesses.
