New Millionaire for Life Lottery Game Promises $1 Million Every Year for Life

A brand-new national lottery game is about to shake things up. Millionaire for Life is launching next month in Massachusetts and 30 other jurisdictions, giving players a shot at a $1 million-a-year-for-life jackpot — every single day.

Daily drawings kick off Sunday, February 22, at 11:15 p.m. The odds of hitting the top prize are 1 in 22.9 million, with overall odds of winning sitting at 1 in 8.47.

Why this game stands out

  • Grand prize: $1 million per year for life

  • Second prize: $100,000 per year for life

  • Ticket price: $5 per play

  • Nine total ways to win, with prizes ranging from $8 to $7,500

Both top prizes are paid as annuities, and there’s a 20-year guaranteed payout for beneficiaries if a winner passes away early. Players can also choose a one-time cash option instead of annual payments.

To play, participants will pick five numbers from 1 to 58, plus one Millionaire Ball from 1 to 5.

Lottery officials say this game is built for players who love long-term payouts — especially younger audiences. As one lottery executive put it, “Imagine winning $1 million year after year — this game truly lives up to its name.”

Millionaire for Life will officially replace Lucky for Life, which wraps up with its final drawing on Saturday, February 21. Lucky for Life first launched in March 2012 and has been offered by about 20 lotteries nationwide.

Bottom line: bigger payouts, daily drawings, and lifetime income — this new game is aiming to make millionaires for life, literally.
