White Rock woman wins Lotto 6/49 jackpot worth $5 million

A lucky woman from White Rock named Geraldine Ettinger won a whopping sum of $5 million playing Lotto 6/49 drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Semiahmoo Shopping Centre to escape the snowy weather. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $50,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket. 

“At first, I thought I won $5,000, but I was counting the zeroes and then the retailer said, ‘That’s $5 million!’”

She plans of traveling new places with the winning amount and save the rest. 

Lotto 6/49 is one of three national lottery games in Canada. 

Winning numbers are drawn by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC) every Wednesday and Saturday, executed with a random number generator.
