A lucky Charlotte resident won a top scratch lottery prize worth $200,000.

Brue Tipton, 41 of Charlotte is the lucky man who purchased a $5 Carolina Jackpot game scratch-off ticket and won $200,00.

“I was honestly too scared to drive,” Tipton said. “It took a while before I could stop shaking.”  

“When I saw a lot of zeroes on there,” Tipton said, “I knew I won something big.” 

The winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K on Freedom Drive in Charlotte.

Tipton has claimed the winning prize from lottery headquarters and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $142,021.
