Man wins $50,000 Powerball prize 6 years after $100,000 scratch-off jackpot

A lucky man from Maryland named Dimas Montoya won Powerball jackpot worth $50,000 just six years after collecting a $100,000 jackpot from a scratch-off lottery ticket.

The winning ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven store on Smallwood Drive in Waldorf. The store will receive a bonus of $500 for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket. 

The winning ticket matched four of the white balls in the drawing and the Powerball.

Montoya plans to go toward a family vacation and bolstering his savings.

Powerball is an American lottery game offered by 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. 

Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
