Check your couch cushions: $1 million Powerball ticket about to expire in Washington

In Washington, a potentially life-changing $1 million Powerball ticket is on the verge of expiring, and lottery officials are calling on the public to help locate it.

The ticket, purchased at a Maverik gas station in Airway Heights for the November 7 drawing, matched all five white balls - 10, 33, 41, 47, and 56 - but missed the red Powerball 10.

The deadline for claiming the prize is May 6, exactly 180 days from the drawing date, according to Washington's Lottery.

If the ticket goes unclaimed, the $1 million will be placed in a reserve account. Any surplus from this account will be directed to the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, which supports education throughout the state.

Joshua Johnston, the acting director of Washington's Lottery, emphasized the positive impact of this account in a statement released on May 5.

Powerball, a popular lottery game played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, holds drawings on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays at 10:59 p.m. ET, which can also be streamed online.

It's important to note that ticket sales times may vary from state to state. Airway Heights, where the winning ticket was purchased, is located approximately 10 miles west of Spokane.
