$10 scratch off ticket wins $1 million prize for a NC woman

According to the North Carolina Education Lottery news release, Mary Szura of Charlotte bought a $10 scratch off ticket and won $1 million prize. 

Szura purchased the NC Lottery's '50X The Cash' scratch off games ticket from the Quick Trip on Monroe Road in Matthews.

The lucky woman visited the lottery headquarter in Raleigh on Friday to claim her life changing prize. 

Szura had the option of taking the $1 million as annuity of $50,000 a year for 20 years or a one time payment of $600,000.

She chose the one time lump sum payment of $600,000. Szura took home $424,503 after required federal and state tax withholdings, the officials said.
