A Powerball lottery player from Central Pennsylvania scoops a big jackpot recently

A ticket for Saturday’s Powerball lottery sold in central Pa. is worth $1 million. The Pennsylvania Lottery said the ticket was sold at Pottsville Provision Company, 415 N. Seventh St. in Pottsville, Schuylkill County.

The company will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The ticket for the Sept. 30 drawing matched five of the five white balls drawn, 19-30-37-44-46 to win $1 million, less applicable withholding.

Winners are not known until prizes are claimed and tickets are validated. Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

Winning tickets purchased at lottery retailers should immediately be signed on the back, the lottery said.

More than 155,900 other PA Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes of various amounts in the drawing, including more than 32,600 purchased with Power Play and more than 13,600 tickets purchased with Double Play, the lottery said.
