Fortunate scratch off lottery player from Boonsboro store wins a big jackpot

A Boonsboro man won $100,000 in a Maryland Lottery scratch-off game last week, the agency said Monday.

The man bagged the money from a winning Gold X50 scratch-off game he bought for $10 at an AC&T store at 719 N. Main St. in Boonsboro.

He declined to be identified, which the Lottery allows. The man told the lottery that he likes how the prize multiplier works with the game.

He usually plays a $5 game, but went for the more expensive ticket on a spur-of-the-moment decision. Gold X50 is one of four members of a family of multiplier games.

As the ticket price of each Gold Multiplier game climbs from $1 to $2 to $5 to $10, so do the cash prizes.

The man was among six $100,000 scratch-off game winners across the state last week, according to the lottery, which doled out nearly $33 million in the week among all its games.
