A fortunate Blackstone guy scoops a big jackpot recently in a lottery game

Winning the lottery appears to be becoming a tradition for one local family. On Tuesday, Thomas Ensko won $1 million on a Mega Millions ticket.

He claimed his prize on Wednesday at the Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. It's a somewhat familiar routine.

According to the Lottery Commission, Ensko's wife also won $1 million — more than 20 years ago, on an instant ticket. Ensko, who could not be reached for comment, bought the ticket at Anderson's Variety, 266 Blackstone St., Blackstone.

For selling the ticket, the store gets $10,000. In a press release from MassLottery, Ensko said the numbers he chose are based on similarities to his birthdate.

"I've been playing the same numbers for the last 20 years," he said.
