A Chatham woman is heading across the pond for a fun trip after winning a $100,000 lotto prize.

Chatham woman wins $100,000 Encore prize.

Melody Southgate, 61, won $100,000 when she matched six of the seven Encore numbers in the June 14 Lotto Max draw. She also won $20 on the Lotto Max draw, stated the OLG in a media release.

Southgate, who said she is an occasional lottery player, randomly logged into her OLG account to purchase her winning ticket.

“I still didn’t believe it until I spoke to someone at OLG,” she added while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. Southgate took a few days off for her win to sink in.

“I might not fully accept it until I see the money in my bank,” she said. “I’m planning to treat myself and my best friend with a trip to the U.K.,” Southgate said.

“The rest will be invested by my trusted advisers for me to enjoy a nice retirement.” The lucky women is so excited after winning the huge amount.
