A Sydney couple have become overnight millionaires after winning a $30 million Lotto jackpot.

The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, said they had to take a few moments when they realised their numbers had come up.

"We just couldn't believe it," they said. "It's taken a few days to sink in that we've actually won such an incredible amount of money."

The winning ticket was purchased from a newsagency in Woolongong. The couple had chosen their own numbers and also used the quick pick option.

They plan to use their winnings to travel the world, buy a new house, and help their family and friends.

"We want to enjoy the money and make sure it lasts," the couple said. The $30 million Lotto jackpot was the biggest in Australia this year and has made the couple instant millionaires.
