A Lucky Austin guy buys winning $29 million Texas Lottery ticket

A Texas lottery player from Austin scoops a big jackpot recently

Someone just became a multimillionaire after they purchased a Texas Lottery ticket from a corner store in South Austin.

The lucky local won the $29 million jackpot from a Lotto Texas ticket they bought from the Salt Springs Xpress corner store located at 8101 Salt Springs Drive, Austin, TX 78744, according to the Texas Lottery website.

The winner matched all six Lotto Texas numbers from the Monday night, June 24, drawing. Whoever bought the ticket chose to receive the total prize money via the cash value option, meaning they'll receive a lump sum but it will be less than $29 million.

Still, the Austin winner will receive $16.5 million before taxes with the cash value option. It costs $1 per Lotto Texas play, according to the website.

The winner has yet to claim the prize money but can do so by visiting the Texas Lottery headquarters in Austin at 1801 Congress Ave., Suite 6.403, Austin, TX 78701 by appointment only. Winners can call 800-375-6886 to make an appointment.
