A lucky couple are the new millionaire in area around of Frederick

A Frederick Couple are the state’s newest millionaires.

The Maryland Lottery says the couple won the cash by purchasing a Show Me $1-million ticket last week at Festival Major Liquors at 446 Prospect Street in Frederick.

“Someone who told us they were a recent cancer survivor and were very glad to claim the prize”: says Seth Elkin, Assistant Director of Communications for Public Affairs with Maryland Lottery and Gaming.

“They’d beaten cancer and now they have a $1-million prize to celebrate on top of that.

He says the couple wishes to remain anonymous. “We want for people to go public and have us be able to tell their stories with their names and their photos.

But that is definitely the winner’s choice and a lot of people certainly value that option.”
