A lucky scratch off lottery player wins $1 million recently in Stanislaus County

A Stanislaus County man has been identified as the winner of a $1 million prize from the California Lottery.

Daniel Fagundes scored the win while playing a Power 10’s ticket that he bought at Santa Fe Market & Liquor in Hughson, lottery officials said.

Each Power 10's scratch-off ticket costs $10. “I scratched it right there in the store and knew I won right away.

I was in shock,” he said in a release from the lottery. He added that his wife at first didn’t believe him but then “stayed very calm, unlike me.”

“This is an amazing thing that happened, and we have already started planning financially,” he said.

“I even already retired.” California Lottery said that he was among 10 recent winners of $1 million or more.
