A scratch off lottery player from Mexico scoops a big jackpot recently

Texans aren't the only ones having good luck with scratch off tickets from the Texas Lottery.

The Texas Lottery Commission announced that a player from Mexico struck gold by winning $1 million playing the scratch ticket Diamond 7s, according to a Texas Lottery news release.

A resident of Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico purchased the scratch off ticket at Stripes Store, located at 3501 Hwy. 361, Port Aransas, TX 78373, and walked out as the Texas Lottery's newest millionaire.

The person who claimed the winning ticket chose to remain anonymous, according to the release.

With prizes worth a total of $96 million, this was the third of four top $1 million prizes to be claimed in Diamond 7s.

The odds of winning any prize are one in 3.50, which includes break-even prizes, according to the release.
